Charlotte, NC and Wilmington, Del (Wednesday, October 2, 2024) — DuPont and Ǹ have been named finalists in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Citizens Award for the Best Commitment to Education Category. The Citizens Awards highlight corporate leadership and partnership in helping to solve society’s biggest challenges.
Delaware-headquartered DuPont is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in education by supporting efforts to ensure that students are equipped, engaged, and aware of the opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The Delaware Department of Education, DuPont, and Ǹ established a multiyear partnership in 2021 to increase middle and high school students’ access to high-quality STEM instructional resources and support the development of career and technical education pathway programs across the state that directly address gaps in STEM careers.

As part of the partnership, DuPont is a member of the spearheaded by Ǹ. The Coalition effectively connects the dots between classrooms and careers to inspire and help students learn and implement STEM skills to make a difference in the world. Nationally, DuPont’s leadership in the STEM Careers Coalition has helped reach over 10 million students. Together in Delaware, DuPont and Ǹ reached 95 schools with over 115,000 students.

Finalists and winners in each category are selected by an external panel of business and non-profit leaders who are making an impact through purpose and innovation within their organizations. . This year, 30 companies have shown outstanding leadership in driving solutions to the world’s biggest problems, from educating America’s youth on the power of civic engagement, to delivering lifesaving medical supplies during humanitarian crises, to improving access to mental health care for underserved populations.
